Base skill, Ritual Magic


All magic spells have their base in the Ritual Magic skill (B218). This forms the basic knowledge on how spellcasting works and is essential for any mage.

Specialization 1, Spell Schools


While all magic has a similar base, there are key differences between the elements. As such, there are important differences, necessitating a deeper specialization. There are nine schools, but all of the skills look the same.

Specialization 2, Spell Class


There is one level of specialization more, and that is spell classes. These take the form of techniques that all default to the different Spell Schools.

Spells


The final level are the spells. Each spell is a hard skill that is controlled by it’s school and class. So for instance, the spell Firestrike, looks as following.

There are move advanced versions of some spells that is controlled by other spells, like Pillar of Flame.

Kira is a newly trained mage but she is quite bright. She has an IQ of 13. She has spent some time studying Ritual Magic. She has spent 4 points on Ritual Magic, leading her to to have it at 12. She has focused on life and light magic. As such she has spent 2 points on each, leading her to have 11 in each. She however hasn’t learned any classes. She knows two spells, Mend Wound and Light Globe. Both spells have 1 point spent, having both at 9.

Farah is an experienced pyromancer, but she isn’t the brightest mage around. She has an IQ of 11. She has spent some time studying Ritual Magic. She has spent 4 point on is giving her an 10 in Ritual Magic. She has spent a lot of time on her passion, Pyromancy, spending 24 points on it, leading her to have it at 15. Given that she is a battle mage, she have studied pyroevocation, spending 4 points on it, leading to a 18. One of her two most used spells is Firestrike. She has spent 2 points on it, having it a 17. Her most used spell is Pillar of Flame, a more advanced version of Firestrike. She has however only spent 1 point on it, leading to to being 15.
